Nasos Vasalakis
esports
My name is Nasos Vasalakis and I was born in Athens, on March 23, 1999. At the age of 7 I started playing football. My love for this sport couldn't help but pass to video games as well. That's why I started playing FIFA with my first game being FIFA 07.
For several years I played as a hobby either alone or with friends, not knowing what level I was in my our country, as there were no tournaments to perceive it. 2017 was the first year I started competing in tournaments. Just in the 2nd championship I participated in (the national Xbox Arena Festival tournament with 512 entries), I managed to win the first place, which made me understand what level I was at, despite my young age. Since then, I count 41 firsts, several more titles and distinctions both in Greece and abroad. With the most important of these being the conquest of the FIFA esports National Championship for 2 consecutive years FIFA 20 and FIFA 21, a place in the 95 best players in the European eChampions League Cup and finally, to finish in position 96 of the world ranking in FIFA 21 being the only Greek who managed to win 30 out of 30 games and represent our country in the global esports community. I feel very grateful to become the first eAthlete in OPAP and I am glad that now esports in Greece are gradually achieving the recognition they deserve!
