OPAP and Panathinaikos Athletic Club continue together

Second consecutive year of cooperation

OPAP and Panathinaikos Athletic Club announced on Monday, November 4 2019 that they continue their sponsorship cooperation. With OPAP’s support for a second consecutive year, more than 2,500 athletes of the historic club will continue to offer distinctions and great excitement to fans of the club.

Panathinaikos A.C. participates in most of the championships of team sports and has special departments for disabled people. The club’s 19 sports departments include: men’s volleyball, women’s volleyball, men’s water polo, women’s basketball, rugby, futsal, swimming, diving, athletics, weightlifting, boxing, wrestling, fencing, sharpshooting, archery, table tennis, cycling, modern pentathlon, e-sports.

During the presentation which took place at the company’s premises, OPAP Deputy CEO Odysseas Christoforou, said: “OPAP’s goal is to enhance the relation between sports and the society. An example of this are our activations for Athens Marathon, which are directly linked to our big project, the full renovation of the two largest pediatric hospitals of Greece. This year as well, we have already engaged more than 250,000 of our co-citizens via the “OPAP Contribution Squad” app. OPAP turns the participation of people into financial support for the renovation of the hospitals. We invite all people to download the “OPAP Contribution Squad” app and participate in OPAP’s initiative for children”.

The Vice President of Panathinaikos AC Stefanos Avgouleas, said: “OPAP has implemented significant initiatives for the society. We are certain that Greek society will embrace the new initiatives of OPAP and Panathinaikos AC, the biggest club of the country. We are trying to support amateur sports as much as possible. In this context, we focus on sports academies of the club. Moreover, we are the first big club that has special departments for disabled people”.


The Vice President and CEO of DPG Group of Companies Panagiotis Triantopoulos noted: “OPAP supports professional and amateur sports, as well as the society. We have cooperated many times with success and I believe that we have more to offer to sports and the society in the future”.

The player of the volleyball team of Panathinaikos A.C. Panagiotis Pelekoudas stressed: “As an athlete and as a person, I am very glad for our cooperation with OPAP. This cooperation highlights the social contribution in Greece and contributes to the development of sports and the society”.

The player of women’s basketball team of Panathinaikos A.C. Aspasia Kalabakou noted:” We are very happy to continue our cooperation with OPAP, which contributes greatly to the efforts of all the departments of our club to achieve their goals”.
